Production of plastic profiles

Combicar plastic profiles production follows a carefully planned production cycle. From the selection of raw materials and semi-finished products, to the testing and packaging of the finished product, each phase is subjected to rigorous quality controls.

Plastic Material Extrusion Process

Our plastic extrusion process uses an extruder, a machine that transforms plastic granulate (PVC, EPDM, other) into a moldable material thanks to high pressure, friction and heat. With the use of a second extruder, we can combine multiple plastic materials in a single process, known as coextrusion. This allows us to create products with flexible or rigid consistency and in different colors.

Formation and Cooling of the Plastic Profile

The molten plastic is then shaped by a die, which shapes the final product. Once extruded, the profile is cooled with cold water and dried by a jet of air, thus preparing the base for applying the adhesive. The profile is then cut to size by a cutting device.

Extrusion Department: Machinery and Equipment

To produce over 1.5 million linear meters of plastic profiles per year, Combicar has:

  • 6 extrusion lines
  • Co-extrusion devices for all 6 lines
  • Equipment for the application of 4 fixing systems, which allow:
    • the application of a primer or a hot melt adhesive
    • the gluing of a double-sided tape
    • the application of a butyl sealant
  • Equipment for the application of one or more aluminum sheets to the base of the profile
  • Equipment for applying an external coating to the profile, to create chrome, pearlescent or titanium-colored finishes
